Finding out

Hi, my name is Beth. I am 13. I’m in 8th grade. I dance for a dance team and we are really good! I have a learning disability. I just found this out a few weeks ago. I haven’t told any of my friends yet because I’m scared they wont be my friend if I tell them.

I do struggle with school and I know I’m not smart but I work hard, and right now I’m reading Twilight. It is SO good!

I’m getting help at school. I’m getting put in a special program that will help me and I have to take an entrance test to get into high school, so I might get extra time on tests. All my teachers help me a lot, like on tests, they give me an easier test, but I think it’s still hard. I try really hard in school. I always do my homework and I’ve never gotten detention (knock on wood).

Something I love is dance. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old. Right now I am on a select dance team. We travel and work really hard. I also love listening to music. My fave song right now is So what? by Pink. Me and my friend are doing a report on her for music class.

When my parents are talking, I usually listen in, and I hear quite a lot. I don’t always try to, but it just happens. I have a big family that will help me through this, and my family is getting even bigger. My aunt is getting married to my boyfriend’s dad, so now I will have 2 more step cousins. Right now I have 8 cousins and 1 step cousin. We all get along very well. I know my family will be here for me, it’s just hard to know that I have something wrong with me, but I’m ok with it!
