Having Dyslexia

I have dyslexia and it is nothing to be embarrassed about. It can be when you get your “d” and “b” the wrong way. Some famous people have dyslexia, like Tom Cruise. He does not know how to read too well.

Some times, when the teachers ask me to read out loud I get scared. When I am in a room of kids that can read, and when I cannot read well I get nervous. When I read out loud I read it wrong. I will read to a room full of kids that have dyslexia like I do. I have had dyslexia since I was in the third grade.

When I was trying to read in third grade I could not read a word. All the teachers had a meeting with my mom and put me in a new school. The name of the school was Pembroke School. This is where I would get help with my dyslexia. When I got to this school I went to a class where there were kids that had dyslexia and other learning disabilities. I was much more comfortable reading. Now I have help with my dyslexia. I’m getting the help I need and I am getting better all the time.
