Visual SAT Vocabulary Flashcards

I tried these cards and they are terrific. The pictures really describe the word, and the company is so supportive and the cards arrive in just a few days. Check out this website:

Hi everyone, I just received my cards and they really look good. I will be using them this summer with a student. I will let you know what I think of them later.

Shay,

are these cards sorted by difficulty? Are they appropriate to start using them with a 10 y. old to increase his vocabulary? Since he does not read at grade level and we do not really speak English at home (we do to some extend, but our English has a lot to wish for in terms of vocabulary), I am searching for way to increase his vocabulary (and mine at the same time- what a bonus ;-)).

No , these are definately high school/college words. Start your child on an age appropriate program such as Wordly Wise and then base words with word roots. Language! also has a good program for vocabulary development called Roots!. You can purchase the program from Sopris West.
