Phono-Graphix - thanks Shay!

Hi all,

My son is going into 4th grade, and has been identified with inattentive ADHD, APD, and NLD. I have him off medication for the summer.

We’ve worked very briefly with the PG program - we started with Chapter 4. We worked 3 days last week, and had one intensive 1 hour lesson this morning. This morning everything started clicking and we got through 3 times the work I expected to get through! We FINISHED Chapter 4!

My son finally understands how “sound pictures” go together to make words. I have been trying to teach him this skill since he was 4 years old - including while he was on meds for ADHD! I’m thrilled, delighted, and excited! He’s still not 100% on Chapter 4 (the lesson where he maps the words without any prompting except the sounds), but he’s about 95%. We’ll work on that skill as we go through the other Chapters in the book.

Thanks Shay - I was beginning to think I would never see the day this happened without using one of the really expensive and drawn out private reading programs.
