language question

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I have a 3rd grade son who was given the LPT as a language screening. I have never heard of this test and was wondering if anyone knew what the letters stood for? What type of scores are derived from it just a SS and %? His report says his SS was 81 for a 9% ranking. No age or grade equivelant given. No break down of the areas tested ie receptive/expressive/pragmatics ect. With a score this low does it really matter? Just curious, thanks.

I think LPT stands for the Language Processing Test, but I could be wrong. A percentile score of 9, however, is on the low side of most tests. It is hard to say without seeing the areas that were screened etc..
