Re: Analysis of Individual Reading Assessment Instruments
No, I think the focus of that site is on reading assesment so the normal years for that instruction would of course be K-3. However, I think you could choose the best tests from that list and assume that they would be good for older children since many tests will go several years higher than third grade. Once a child can read, the comprehension score would seem to be very important, so the format/quality of that kind of testing should remain consistent all the way up I would think…that’s just a guess, though.

Re: Analysis of Individual Reading Assessment Instruments
OK, thanks - my school system has suddenly decided to pay attention and we are having a meeting Thursday so they can “explain” my son’s test scores to me. Sorry for being so cynical - but no one who is doing the “explaining” has ever met my son OR been involved in testing him. I thought it would be good for me to be more familiar with test specifics so I understand the tests and can ask intelligent questions about the explanations! :-) Since my son was third grade or younger for the majority of them, I’ll go through specifics for those various tests. I WAS curious about the Stanford 9’s for 4th grade though …
Thanks again
Re: Analysis of Individual Reading Assessment Instruments
I’m sorry but we don’t have the Stanford 9 here, so I don’t know a thing about it. I’m sure you know that you can post scores on here and get some good advice. Good luck with your meeting!

Janis - what a great site! Have you run across anything similar for over third grade?
Thanks
