Does Anyone Use Brain Gym?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am a LD teacher. I am wondering if anyone has used Brain Gym and if so, have you seen improvement with your students.
Thanks

Iam aware of Brain Gym and have tried to find some controlled research that might back the program’s claims. Have not had any luck. Brain Gym is willing to “sell” their research which seems to me suspect at best. Has anyone out there seen any research on the program?????

I do have research sent to me from Carla Hannaford. She sent it to me last week. She will be starting a website soon.
Here is what I’m thinking regardless of the research found.
David Sosua states that movement is what helps the brain learn to its maximum potential. So, if teachers are going to do movement in the classroom why not do “brain gym” movements that may have the potential to help the students learn better.

that they had seen positive results from using Brain Gym in the classroom.

Brain Gym was done for 45 minutes every day at the special school a friend’s child attended last year, and my friend thinks the BG exercises were responsible for much of her child’s progress that year.

I was wondering if the “research” you recieved has been of any use to you and if the website has been started yet?
