Lindamood IEP objectives

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Roughly four or five years ago, a special education teacher who posted reguarly on LD Online shared a list of IEP objectives based on the Lindamood-Bell LiPS (or then Auditory Discrimination in Depth) sequence for instruction and mastery. Would any of you have a copy? If so, please email me back privately.

Best,

I am new to this board, but I am currently taking the LMB training and I too am hoping someone might have the LMB IEP objectives. Please email me as well.

Susan Long had the G’s and O’s you are looking for. I had them at one time but they are long gone as that was about 2 computer’s and 4 years ago. :-D

Well, after all this time, I’ve found one modified hard copy which I have yet to retype because they’ve been materially changed. Like others, that was three computers ago. They are not, also, in today’s formate for objectives. IOW, they are not measurable.

For example:

Obj 1:
LW (learner will) articulate consonant pairs (p/b, t/d, k/g, s/z, ch/j, f/v, sh/zh, th/th (underlined), r/l) and describe how the mouth feels during articulation.

Obj 2:
LW label consonant pairs (from objective 1) with a name that describes the mouth-feel during articulation.

Obj 3:
LW accurately name a letter of the alphabet for each sound articulated in Obj 1.

These aren’t exact, but pretty close. The problem was that I had some issues with writing IEP’s using what an individual from a LmB clinic had sent to me. There were 75 or so objectives that several “ands” in the same objective.

It is cumbersome to even try to retype. I should have gotten to it before now, though…

As someone who has written zillions of IEPS (and IHPs), I’d say that they look objective (more so than some of the goals I have seen). As for measurable, you just add a percentage… Reminds me of the only IEP joke I know, “Johnny will cross the street successfully 80% of the time”. :-)

Of course if there are 75 of them… That’s a lot of percentages, etc. to write and test out.

If you would be willing to fax them to me, I would work on typing them. I know several people who are looking for them.

I have constructed lots if IEPs goals that are acceptable in California (i.e. tied to state standards, etc.) Would they be helpful to you at this point in time?

Cherie,

Are they based on Lindamood Bell LiPS?

I am going to Seeing Stars training next week and will ask around if anyone knows of any LiPS objectives. I have a beautiful set of benchmarks for Phono-Graphix created by Rod E.
