ADD

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hi! I was wondering if there is any other medication besides ritalin that is used for ADD students? One of the students I have has ADD but the parents don’t want to use ritalin for him because of the side affects. Any information on this would be appreciated! Thanks!

Strattera is a non-stimulant that is available. You can also use an Assistive Listening Device in the Classroom to helphim focus on what you are saying. Another medicatino they can try is Adderrall, which is a different stimulant. Also, supplements of Calcium and Magnesium and plenty of sleep and structure can help.
