need help

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

This is totally off the subject of reading, but I need your help. I have copied all posts that I want to keep and would like to delete them now, as well as all old ones that I don’t need. I absolutely can’t find anywhere on this site to delete things (if it’s obvious, forgive me, I am relatively new to the internet!) I love this site, but want to clean up my mess!

Can someone please advise me? Many thanks in advance, Leslie

Leslie,

I may not understand what you are asking, but you cannot delete items from this site. When you post and check “Email replies to this thread, to the address above”, you will get a copy of all subsequent posts to your email. Those you can delete. I’m not sure why you’d have the need for anything to delete from the site itself.

Many thanks, Janis. I am truly new to the computer in general and E-mail in particular (yes, I’ve been living under a rock.) The info. you gave is new to me, thanks so much. I have lots to learn.

I forget where I saw it now, but somewhere in your Tools - Internet Options menu you have a choice to have your computer show only the unread messages.

Many people prefer to leave all the messages on the board anyway because we like to go back and remind ourselves of the discussion before diving in.

Your computer should show a little “new” on messages you haven’t read and wipe it off when you read them, so it should be easy to pick out what you want to read. Mine has been not doing that properly recently; don’t know if it’s my computer or the bulletin board.
