Let’s give them a chance - I’m hoping all’s fair and only the cursing, bashing ravers won’t be able to get on. Many sports boards have had to do this. If the censorship is abused, we’ll know it and the board will die. It seems there are those who really get off on making others very miserable. Their ridiculous antics don’t bother me, but in caring for those who are sensitive and when asking for help have been abused - those who run the board have had to act. We are being hit with these rules because indeed some have behaved as brats and it was deemed by the owners necessary to stop.

Perhaps abusers should just be automatically banned - this would make them go to an awful lot of work to get in a bash.

even though i post no email address, this BBS, does publicly post the internet server, and other pertinent info

do not like this at all, typical response to a problem, penalize all, it really feels like school now

My goodness, I just typed a reply to this post and it made me log in a second time. I surely hope they get these bugs worked out soon. I think the major problem is that when we post in the evening, they won’t show up until the next day. That hurts the conversational aspect for sure.

trying again…

i posted before but i guess it got rejected, fine, this is to whoever is reading this,

the fact that the ISP is published next to the name and we have no way to not have it published gives me the creeps

i think you should make it know that email addresses or at least ISP’s are posted next to the name

and can be searched by someone who wanted to,

how tough is it for a good computer person to track someone,

but i think you should explain just what the ISP address etc means next to our names and how the trail could be followed to track someone on the Internet,

Thank you for your feedback. The IP was not supposed to be shown. At least it did not show on all other boards when the new boards were up for the first time (5/19/03 - 3pm). However, for a short period the server was down due to a technical problem, the server technician reset the program and must have unintentionally changed the IP setting for the Teaching Board. We were very confused at your first message, and but did not have time to search for the answer until now.

You are absolutely right, we never should show the IP address to anybody.
Thank you again for your support and understanding.

Best regards,
LD OnLine Moderator.

thank you, having that ISP listed was not good and not many people would have understood just how much info was being published about them

where they live, who their ISP is, lots of info

thanks for changing it, i would not have posted had I known the ISP would show,
