I am interested in ideas on how to construct a math interview with my students. If you have any ideas please send them to me. What I need is to assess my students to find their specific deficit areas- number sense, counting, language. I have assessed them with paper and pencil tests, but I do not feel this test is giving me the specific skill strengths and weakness areas. The interview would be with 2nd- 5th grade student receiving support services.
I am currently a student at Nazareth Colllege in New York and I am studying education(elementary and special ed) Nazareth has one of the best programs in the state. Regarding you question about the math interview…my professor just showed us a video about a math interview. It is very beneficial and I’m sure you can locate it through ILLIAD(inter library loan) I’m not sure of the title but the women in it is named Marilyn Burns. She is excellent! Hope that helped! Jenny
