If you go to the “LD in Depth” section of this website and click on Math Skills, you will find an article entitled something like “Developing Number Fluency….”. This article breaks down math facts (addition, multiplication, etc.) into component parts and explains the process of acquiring them. You probably need to be specific on which math tasks you need broken down in order to get more responses.Mary: Are there any webb sites that break academic tasks down into the

: Are there any webb sites that break academic tasks down into the
: component skills?I think I know what you’re asking for; I have seen this sort of task analysis — it was popular in the 1970’s, for programmed learning. Why do you want it or think you need it? Some degree of task analysis is important to good teaching, because you do have to break processes up into reasonably simple steps that can be learned; but the phrase “task analysis” was used for systems that went much too far and tried to break down even the most advanced thought processes into bite-sized chunks for spoon-feeding. It didn’t work.If you’re sure this is what you realy need, do a web search or university library search under “programmed instruction”. But take their claims with a grain of salt.
