Don't stick to what's not working

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I have a daughter who has a problem with memory and ADD. I thought special classes would help but they just kept her on simple +,-, and time tables. Now I am teaching her at home. We use a calculator and she is learning pre-algebra. She is now enjoying math for the first time, and is slowly picking up the small stuff as she learns the larger. Please don’t keep the kids doing the same thing if it don’t help. Also can you give me advice on helping her with word problems?
