What are the assessment tools used to determine if a child has an disability? i.e. I.Q. or Criterion referenced tests of academic skills

What is the most common disability that is assessed in schools or your school?

The federal legislation does not mandate inclusion, but does forbid exclusio how has your school incorporated inclusion in the regular classroom?

Laguetta, I am a teacher of special needs children and I am currently working on establishing an inclusive classroom with my 12 students. I do not know how many answers you received, but I would be glad to help answer any questions that I can. I have been teaching for 4 years and have learned a lot in just a short amount of time. If you are ever interested in talking…please send me a line! I would love to talk with you!

I am a special education teacher in a school in Georgia. I teach two small group classes of students with various disabilities. These two classes deal with students who have difficulties with written expression and math. I am also an inclusion teacher in other classes: science, social studies, and reading. Our placement decisions for these students are decided in a committee. Please email me. I will be delighted to share information with you.
