has anyone ever presented a workshop for regular education teachers regarding special ed policy and procedure?
Re: IN-SERVICE FOR REG ED
Are they needing to know things like what they have to comply with as far as accommodations, or do they need to know how to fill out paperwork… or is it more that they need a reality check because they’re still in “kids need to figure out what I mean, not the other way around” mode? I think a lot would depend on the individuals you’d be giving the presentation to — some still need to be sold on the whole idea that a kid *can* have “special needs” and still be worth their all-wonderful “regular teacher” resources… many others would love guidance as far as when to help and how much, and what to do when things aren’t working.
Re: IN-SERVICE FOR REG ED
OF COURSE they need the infomration for the reasons presented and MANY more — I was just wondering IF anyone had actually provided this type of in-service to the regular education teachers in their buildings. I am trying to design an overview inservice for HS teachers and do not want to reinvent the wheel….
