The Shoshone Summer Camp is currently accepting applications for the 2002 session (June 29-August 10th). This program is located in the Absaroka Mountain range of the Rockies in Northwest Wyoming (about 25 miles from Yellowstone Natiuonal Park). Students (ages 9-16) participate in a full academic & recreational program. Our academic staff includes many teachers who work during the school year at reknowned schools for dyslexic students. All students receive daily 1:1 Orton-Gillingham tutoring. Other academic offerings include silent reading period, structured study hall, small group writing class, and art. Math tutoring is available to those students that need it.
Our ranch setting provides us with access to a full horseback riding program, hiking, trout fishing, rock climbing, as well as swimming, campfires, and other traditional camp activities. We hire a full staff of experienced counselors and outdoor educators to facilitate these activities.

Re: Summer Camp for Dyslexics Near Yellowstone Park
Hi Fran, it’s Mark, remember me? my mom just showed me this site. I was wondering if you wanted a counselor for your camp? Instead of being paid, I was curious as to if we could set up some type of exchange. Instead of being paid, I could just come work for you as a counselor in return for my stay at your camp. I haven’t traveled across the country much and i think this would be a good experience for me, and a nice vacation. I would be 16, and I would be able to relate to alot of the kids there. Not only that, I have some experience working with younger kids, and I think that the older ones ( around my age ) would get along with me great, as well. I have alot of outdoor sport activity, I worked at a place called Charles River Canoe and Kyak for 2 years, and their winter X-Country sky track in Newton, Mass. I can do just about all the activities listed you have at your camp besides horse back riding, which I could catch on to i suppose with a little practice. Please email me, or feel free to call me. My number is 508 - 881 - 5615. Thanks for taking the time to review this.
