Rick Lavoie uses several ideas in his “FAT City” video. I don’t remember the exact details, but text where the words run together- “I sawa ca trun dow nthe street”. He also uses pictures that can appear to be two different things depending on how you look at them. How about having them write with mittens on?

for word retrieval problems, use one of those games like “taboo” where you must describe something without using certain words.

Read in a foreign language and ask them what you said. Give them a word in a foreign language and ask them to spell it. Give them nonsense words and ask them to read.

Or ask them to memorize a list of words of they can’t read and their definitions.

Play music quite loud on one side of the room and tell them to pay attention while you teach a lesson to simulate what it’s like to be constantly distracted.

Have you ever heard of “The Friendly Bog”? I think that is what it is called. It is a paragraph written on one side of the paper the way a person with LD/dyslexia would see it, and on the back is the correct reading.
