Help for children with disabilities

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Could anyone tell me what kind of software or programs that can help3 children with multiple disabilities? ADD, ADHD, LD, ODD, Dyslexia.
I have begged the school to give me anything that will help my children and “We are sorry but we don’t have anything” Is what I get. or “Sorry we don’t know of anything.” I don’t know where to begin. Is there any websites to go to that will let me download anything for there disabilities? I am looking for school related stuff. I know what their disabilities are and all about them. I just want something that will help them with school. Spelling, Math, ect…. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There is a lot of software available to assit you. I would help to know what the grade level of the child is. The attainment company have a lot of assistvie technology that can help. They have a software called Basic Fractions. Their website address is http://www.attainmentcmpany.com There is also Word Wise software that will help with reading and writing. Here is another website that offers many different learning tools to assit with learning http://www.learning-tools.com The biggest challenge in helping anyone with ADHD is to become creative in teaching them. Try and come up with new ways to hold there attention. I children learn through play. If you can create learning games that will also help.ADHD children are usually very creative. Try to tap into what interest the child and incorparate what subject you want to help them in. Any great inventor’s have ADHD. It is believed that Thomas Edison had ADHD. We are reaping the benefits of many of his inventions. I hope I have helped you in some way. If you don’t find what you are looking for in these sites email me and I will send you the addresses of other sites that may have what you are looking for.
