first time at this BB. Are there free websites out there that are interactive- allowing students to practice reading skills, math drills, etc. ? Maybe even grammar, etc. I teach a Jr.-Sr. high Multi-Cat. Resource Room in a very poor district- no money for buying into program like Accelerated Reader, etc. I am looking for resources to help my students practice basic skills on the web.
Thanks.
Re: looking for sites
Hi Sue and Scott,
I have just been putting some links on my own site too. I use them for maths teaching in primary schools. Here is the address http://pauladaniel0.tripod.com/
There are lots of sites particularly in the tables section, great interactive tables practice.

So… your district is poor, but you’ve got web access for all your students? I love the priorities…
You pretty much get what you pay for online. It takes time and resources to design interactive materials - and figuring out which ones match your kiddo can take as long as making your own.If you’re looking for busy work you can probably find it, though. Ones I’ve checked out often have mistakes in them.
http://www.aaamath.com has a lot of practice in basic math skills. I also have had resource kids practicing their typing — I scarfed a keyboarding skills book from somewhere. And I put a lot of the stuff I used in resource on my site at www.resourceroom.net, but it’s not interactive.
