I am doing a research project in my Professional year at University on My First Incredible Amazing Dictionary. I have seen it used successfully with children with Autism and Aspergers. I was wondering if anyone has seen it used with other children with special needs? Would it be suitable with older children who don’t read? Any other information or experiences you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Rachel.
Re: My First Incredible Amazing Dictionary
The Incredible Amazing Dictionary is a CD Rom program from Dorling Kindersley (spelling?). The program is an interactive dictionary with animation and sound effects. It can be used to teach computer, mouse, and cross-referencing/dictionary skills. I have seen the program used with autistic children, but it would be effective for children with learning disabilities and reading problems. That’s about all I know about it for now. Let me know if you find out more. Thanks.
could you describe this and tell how it supports childrens’ learning? I have never heard of it.thanks
