I run a computer lab at my school. I have special ed class come in two times a week for half an hour. The students are not at the same levels. I try to find a level where they can start. In reading , I have the younger ones on Primary Steps to Comprehension and the older ones on Steps to Comprehension. I do the same with typing trying to find their level. A couple of the younger ones I had to drop down to a Phonics K-l. Am I doing the right thing with them?
how does your school expect to integrate tech into instruction without the input of the classroom teacher?????
This sounds like babysitting in the lab to give the classroom teacher a prep period.
There are a zillion reasons for a kid to be in Spec Ed-you need to know what the IEP goals are for each kid and then plan a program of instruction or at least match the software to the kid.
