Earbonics

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Anyone hear of a software program called “Earbonics” to help children with phonemic awareness learning? My son’s speach therapist recommended it for him (just turned 6years). Its a little expensive ($80) and I don’t want to “plunk” down the dough without some feedback or recommendation….Appreciate anything anyone has to tell me.

In my opinoin it’s well worth the money, assuming you dive in and spend real time wiht it on a regular basis. (Lots of the research comes out saying that it’s the intensity and frequency of what you do that’s as important as which program).
But… don’t call it earbonics or folks will think you’re hearkening back to Ebonics, another issue entirely!!

I bought Earobics. I was pretty impressed with it but it was a little juvenile for our 11 year old. But age 6 sounds just about perfect for it to me.

I wish I’d known about it when our son was 6. It was exactly what he needed then.

Best wishes to you and your son.

My son is 8 and we purchased the earobics (step 2) program for him
approx. 3 months ago. He works on this program 3-4 times per week
for approx. 40 min each day. I really do see an improvement. He has
just complete all sections of the first level….this was challenging for him.
I can recommend this program and great…..but please you need to
make sure the child does the program. good luck !
