I am a 42 year old man who after lackluster performance on the LAw School Admission Test was tested for special accommadations. In January of this year I was dx with Non verbal learning disorder.
I live in Miami, Florida and have been unable to find anyone (mental health professional) that have any specific knowledge or training in NVLD.
Does anyone know of anyone that have specific specific knowledge or training in NVLD? Or in the alternative, any suggestions
Re: Adult Non-Verbal Learning Disorder
I, too, have NLD, and I know of an online resource that might provide you with what you need. It’s called NLDline, and the URL is “http://www.nldline.com”. Among other things, it has a link to an online list that consists of parents of NLD children, and NLD adults.

Re: Adult Non-Verbal Learning Disorder
I read this article and a lot of the website and found that yes, I fit 90% of the NLD profile, as also does my daughter. However we are quite good in math, and the characterization that implies that NLD necessarily means math trouble kept cropping up.
Worse than that, the website and article kept saying that NLD people are prone to depression and suicide, and it offered very little hope. I’m generally optimistic and cheerful and intend to stay that way. I found the site itself profoundly depressing and therefore have decided not to get involved with it and not to recommend it to my daughter or to anyone else.
There are great articles on this site by Sue Thompson that really defines this disorder. Good luck!
