(Sacramento-AP) — Thousands of students with dyslexia or other learning disorders will be able to have calculators or reading aides to assist them when they take California’s new high school graduation exam. The state Board of Education modified the previous universal ban on the use of calculators and reading aides at a meeting yesterday. The change will allow learning-disabled students who use calculators or aides to read material to them in their regular classes to have that same help available when they take the exam. Students must pass the test to graduate, starting with the class of 2004. Your interests and concerns will help determine our program and services for the coming year. Share your thoughts by joining with us tomorrow 10:30 - 12:30 pm at the Ygnacio Valley Library located at 2661 Oak Grove Road in Walnut Creek CA. ( This is Northern CA) For more information call 510-433-7934.
