Hi everyone,
I have gotten a laptop for my nine year old son to use in the classroom next year due to his being dysgraphic. I have two word-processing programs that are easy to use and kid friendly. The only problem is that the spell check that came with these programs really stinks and neither has grammar checking.
Can anyone recommend a good spelling/grammar checking software? We have to find one by Aug. 13, that is when he will start to school.
Thanks,
Crystal

Write OutLoud by DJ is one of the best around, CoWriter needs to be used with a word processor, it is a word prediction program.

Thank you for the information. I have found the program I am going to go with, Word Q. It has all the functions my son needs and is a lot cheaper than any of the others I have found. And it was designed with input from teachers to start with. I found it on the teaching with technology board here, so thanks for sending me there Robin.

There is a lot of information in the LDInDepth section of this site- you get there from the top menu bar and the click on technology. CoWriter from Don Johnson looks like it might be the most effective.
