Just wondering if I could get some help “uncoding” my daughters testing scores. Seems as I look back over the last several years as they shuffle her from school to school depending on the room left over for special ed kids everyone uses a different testing method so when I go to compare nothing is comparable!!!!!!! The Battelle seems easy to understand to me Im guessing they score out of 100 and it also shows months delayed ect. I need to understand more about the Baley Scales. She recieved a mental development index of 54, what does this mean?
So we have the Baley, The Peabody, ect ect and also what does an * mean when they speak of percentiles, no number on some just a * Isnt all this hard enough to deal with without all the different testing material????? Thanks, Jen

Jen I’m guessing the 54 is a T score, so it’s average.

The Peabody P.V.T. is an IQ test, and the SS score is the same as an IQ, so 90-110 is average. If you mean the Peabody I.A.T., that’s an achievement test for reading, spelling, math, etc.

Yup, that * is a mystery to me too. Usually if a percentile is low, they use a less-than sign (<), like <1 meaning below 1, not an asterisk. Are there any other scores given along with those *’s? -Bob
