I would llike any information concerning IQuest made by Leap

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I read something about this learning tool and I was hoping someone out there has had experience with it. If you have one or know anything about it, please post any responses - good or bad.
This is specifically for middle school children and it sounds wonderful - but I’m hoping I can get some objective feed back from all of you.

Thanks!!

I bought one for my son this Christmas. He loves it. He is only in the 4th grade, and the online textbook information starts with 6th grade content. But, he still plays with it a lot and considers it a toy, not a learning device. I also have several of the other LeapFrog toys. My dyslexic son whizzed through 5 long chapter books over the holidays using the LeapPad Pro. And the Vocabulator toy is also lots of fun. They all are compatible with the the Mindstation which is the device that you use to download content on your computer to their cartridge.

The process for downloading content is easy. My only complaint is that I wish I could buy several blank cartridges. We only got one with the Mindstation, and I would like to have several since all 3 of my kids have LeapFrog toys and love them. It is not a substitute for learning content in class. It is just review and drill. But, it is motivating and worth the money I think.

Just wanted to let you know they came out with blank cartridges and they should be in the stores soon. You can see them at the Leap Frog main page. They will be $14.99 once they hit the stores. Keep an eye out cause I was told they’d be out there by March!

We bought one too for Christmas and both my 8 year old and 5 year old love it. A great self-reading tool that can be adapted for any age!
