Incorporating LD students in the Classroom

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

My name is Aaron Jones and I am currently working on a research project about How to teach LD students in a classroom setting. I was wondering if anyone could give me some sites to look at besides this one or if they have any information they could share.

There is not a manual for how to teach LD students. They have different weaknesses and strengths and ranges in their abilities and disabilities (as do the non ld students). The most important thing is to follow the individual educational plan, as developed by a team of professionals which included the parents, and teachers. If you start a how to manual… you may be ignoring or rewriting the iep, which defeats its purpose. If you wanted a change in the iep call a meeting, it should be welcomed because the iep can be changed at any time.
