Today I met with the “team” at school and received my daughter’s test results. She is 8 years old and in 2nd grade. I am confused because they haven’t come up with any specific learning disability, although she scored low in most of the tests, and that additional info is needed for an accurate identification.
They did agree she needs help and will be placed in the resource room 4 times/week for math. She will also have occupational therapy twice/week and language therapy once/week. I am trying to figure out the next step. Should I insist on an “accurate ID”? Does the fact that she is getting help mean that an IEP is in place? Any suggestions? Thank you all for being here!
Push for an accurate ID. I wish I had. My daughter is just labeled LD-but her problems are not defined very well.
