Has anyone had the experience of switching their child from “regular” public school to a Waldorf school? Our son is 9-1/2 and almost finishing 3rd grade. He’s gifted with written output challenges. He’s been struggling with the “teach to the test” mentality pervasive in schools today and is chomping at the bit to explore topics in depth. He’s artistic, imaginative, loves to garden. Seems like the switch would really work for him, and that he would benefit from teacher continuity. But I’d love to hear from other parents about any experiences you and your child may have had. Thanks.
I’ve heard from various parents about Waldorf schools and their experiences vary *widely.* It is best to really check out the school. Some are great and work with you; others are incredibly rigid in ways that just don’t work for some kids. Make ssure their attitudes about technology mesh with yours.
