Brainskills vs. Audiblox

We have been doing Brainskills at home. My son has slow processing speed and visual/spatial difficulties. I think it looks like a very good program.

My son went through most of the levels of the auditory exercises with ease (but he has an auditory memory at the 99.9%) so we stopped w/that part since he obviously didn’t need remediation there. We focused on the visual and speed exercises. He progressed up to higher levels but recently hit a brick wall. We start Interactive Metronome in 3 weeks so plan to go back to the visual exercises after he completes that. By the way, the complete PACE has more visual exercises so I am going to be trained w/it this summer and we will do PACE rather than brainskills.

I remember Beth from Fla had posted about her experience with PACE and thought she did it prematurely. So, if you are aware of underlying sensory/motor, visual or auditory deficits, you might want to work on those first. A lot of people seem to get better results with first working on the sensory deficits (Sensory Integration, Nueronet, Listening therapy, FFW, Audiblox(???) followed by cognitive training (PACE, Brainskills, Lindamood Bell).

Hi Marie,
I have been trying to figure this out as well. The only thing I can guess is that Brainskills is more comprehensive (?).

I was about to order one of these programs and then decided that it might be more effective if I explore sensory integration disorder first and remediate this area first. From what I’ve read on this board, that may be the best sequence of remediaton.

My son does have sensory motor difficulties, so I think I will take your advice and look into treating that first. Thanks for your input.
