Can't spell in front of im anymore

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Don’t know if anyone else has hadthis , but husband andfamily were in habit of spelling words we didn’t want kids to hear. Son, 6, had set as one of his goals with tutour that he would be able to understand what we spell. This weekend on car trip he did it three times. For a kid that couldn’t regonize more than one letter at a time 6 weeks ago ….

LOL, that’s great. Funny how things other parents take for granted gives us great pleasure. Going through something similar with my son. My 17yr old used to be carless with the notes from friends she left laying around her room, until she found out brother was finally reading well enough he knew what they said.
I know I should have been mad at him for invading her privacy, but I was so excited he could read them, I had a hard time not smiling as I was scolding him.
