The schools do not seem to understand LD much. Thirty years ago, they thought they were lying, and still nothing has changed. We still get shortchanged.The schools still hope we go away. What do you think ?? Has the schools gotten better for LD kids or has it gotten worse ?
Good question. I guess I think it’s gotten better. From these BBs, I gather many parents are pushing at the schools and watching over their LD children in school. However slowly, that has to have an effect. Parents are more aware of the needs and the rights of the children.
But certainly you’re right in that LD children are still shortchanged in our schools and schools still lie caught between what they can’t do and what they won’t do.
