If you have the time, please check out the first person essay by Christopher Lee. It is an insightful article for parents and teachers who have children and students contemplating going to college and who have a learning difference. I have met Mr. Lee and have his books as well and he is truly an inspiration.

Re: First person essay
I just read the article. It was wonderful! Now I want to buy his books!!! Look what you started. :O) We are just getting to a place with our 10 year old dd that we are deciding which assistive tehnology we will be using in the near future with her. A laptop, a talking dictionary, so far are the must haves that we have decided upon. I wish so much that someone would develop some voice activated software that didn’t have to be read to in order to program a voice into it. We bought one program but our daughter had to read a few long paragraphs to build a word bank, which she wasn’t able to do. Even with us reading it and whispering the words into her ear…it didn’t work. You have to read somewhat fluently. I have written to Microsoft and suggessted that one of their geniuses ;o) develop something…..maybe someday. You never know.
So, where is the essay?
