It is that time of year when we must look at the health insurance options available to us. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about which insurance companies are good for getting things like vision therapy and occupational therapy covered for developmental delays or ADD.
I will say the oxford was pretty useless.
Re: Forget Aetna. (nt)
I live in Florida, and my insurance, United Healthcare, has covered vision therapy for my son. I never filed anything for OT because, although there was some coverage, I was using an out-of-network therapist and they only cover for a 60 day period. In other words, you could go every day for 60 days in 1 calendar year. Not very practical. I was too crazed at the time to deal with filing the claims because I would have had to do it myself due to the therapist I used. Good luck.
Re: Insurance companies that cover developmental deficits.
Good luck. The only one we ever had good coverage with was PHP (Physicians Health Plan) and I think that is local here in Michigan. sorry!
