where do I begin

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

My son is now 16 and has been tested by the school in 5th grade and last year in 9th grade. Both testing show an average to above IQ but other testing shows that he does not have a 3rd grade lever in certian areas. He has great difficulty with writing and spelling. Each time he was tested they came back and said he was at the low normal level so he does not qualify for special services. I am very frustrated because I have spent many hours trying to help him with home work but I am unable to teach him. I am very concerned that he will be giving up soon, even though right now he is still very eager to learn. What I am tring to find out now is where do I go from here because my son and my self feel as though no one is listening and I know my son and he really is having trouble. If someone could please help me in the direction I need to go from here.

Patty,

I think the best way that people could help you is if you post his 9th grade scores both IQ and achievement. On the IQ post the subtest scores as well as the PIQ, VIQ and FIQ. For the achievement post the Standard Scores.
