Go check out the teaching LD students—subject pacifiers and Autism.
Re: Silly, wasn't it...
Thanks. I was just thinking maybe I was not communicating to Steve clearly and that maybe if you gave it a try he would understand. After a few people tried talking to him I realized he did not want to understand. The whole thread just grated my nerve though and I felt compeled to respond. Maybe like Socks felt we all become a little emotionally charged at times. Thanks for listening.
Re: Silly, wasn't it...
I read the posts too, but -something uncommon to me - I kept my mouth shut with the exception of one comment. Some posts just aren’t worth answering - that was my thought immediately. I figured he was just trying to start conflict and not really interested in learning anything.
I agree with you...
but as a person who has had direct experience with “professionals” applying Bettleheim’s folly to my wife and I to explain why our boy is autistic, anytime some one (troll or otherwise) posts something which enters that realm I find my better sense of “ignore them and they will go away” flies out the window.
Perhaps that was all he was in the end, a simple troll looking for a few jollies at our expense. How small people must be to resort to games even Springer wouldn’t play. It is a sad, sick world.
I am there now. I was away from the boards for a couple days and just now saw it.
Pacifiers as a trigger for autism… smacks of that old charlaton Bruno…
Still, I have read other equally as facetious theories by people who really should know better…
