Does anyone have a link to a website that lists specific IEP goals?.
My SD never discusses Goals in a specific way at CSE meeting.
They will say vague things like we will include alot of writing goals.
Its not the way to do it I know., but if i came to them with a typed
up list of goals then I can be in the drivers seat.
Thanks for any and all input on how to compose IEP goals specific
to my child . His issues include OT- sensory integration, graphomotor
delays , writing delays , attention issues and some mild auditory processing.
Thank you so much!!!
Re: Website for IEP goals?
get a copy of a book called “Developing legally corrent iep goals” by Barbara Bateman available from a company called sopris west. i may have the exact book title a bit wrong but it should be easy to find this book on the sopris west website.

Re: Website for IEP goals?
A good web site for developing goals is:
http://www.spedforms.com/goals/criteria.htm
Another one, specific to California curriculum standards, is:

Hey socks - I knew that would get your attention.
Already found the controlled open environment under Fla. Statutes. You don’t have to have a good reason for this?

BULL SH— goals. Locally, our Spec. Ed. teachers are pros. at this! Yes, basically they are paid to write a lot of flowing whining babbled nonsense on the IEP that does not hold anyone accountable for anything. Therefore, they are NEVER responsible or accountable for teaching anything.. They take classes or “sessions” from the district on how to write BS -IEP goals. The district or state’s legal staff train them on how to write these meaningless goals! These so called goals are usually either stuff/fluff you could train your kid to do next week. Or, they contain such ambiguous terms that they mean very little to anyone, yet they do fill up the page quite nicely :) They also write fast and sloppy controlling the pen and editing out YOUR input every step of the way. Without being specific, I can only say that nationally normed tests are a good units of measure. Teacher subjectivity and goals accomplished to 60%- 70% are quite lame. I think that I have just told you what not to let happen. Hopefully, someone here can demonstrate how to steer the IEP goals into something meaningful and realistic for your child. Another good place to look would be in Wright’s Law under IEP goals and see what they recommend.
