Henmon-Nelson Test of Mental Ability

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hi!

My nearly 12 year old, entering sixth grade, daughter took this test when interviewing at a school a couple of weeks ago. Her unscored test results were 105; average would presumably be 100 if the test had been scored. While I have been carefully avoiding intelligence testing up to now, and would have refused permission had I known that she was taking an intelligence test rather than an achievement test (as I had assumed), now that I actually have this result, can anybody tell me what this test measures, and what the result would be if it had been scored? I think it was the instrument used for grade 6-9.

Hi shirin, I just read about your situation and thought you might like to know of a web site where I down loaded all of this. wrightslaw.com has a place there understanding tests and measurements that is great, It takes you step by step and how they average everything, even on the curve, It was very helpful to me. Let me know if you can’t find it and I can fax it or send it to you .
