Well a week has went by since we had her last iep meeeting, The school has not put her back in science. I will be calling them tommorow to find out why. They have sent a list of spelling words home with her. I am suspose to help her with them, when I asked her if she gets help at school on them she says, “no”. She was approved for an advocate. We got the letter Friday. Should I let things go until the advocate and I meet and discuss what to do from here? I feel they have set her up to fail in what they did start working with her on. After a year of not working with her the spelling they sent home is not modified in any way and has thirty words she is to learn a week. With two to three sentances to write. They said they added words to the regular list they felt she should know for re-test. That the teacher does once a month, That is taken from all three test given prior to the re-test. It is nessessary to do the retest to see if they retain what they have learned. Am I expecting too much, for the school to understand that I don’t expect her to jump from doing what we call busy work to grade level, without a lot of work in between?
If it is only a couple more weeks,I would wait for the advocate.
