Hi Laura. You answered my post April 24 regarding what to do for the summer. I was wondering if you spoke to anyone at the Kelter Center. I’m interested in your reaction. I brought my son’s materials there almost 3 weeks ago and just called. By next week they’ll be ready to give me their opinion re what he needs or additional testing etc.
Re: Looking for Laura in L.A.
Hi,
I personally know Sharon and she is top notch. Another great learning center is Stowell in Diamond Bar. You may want to check that one out too. They both stay on top of the current methodologies to remediate kids. Good luck!
Re: Looking for Laura in L.A.
Hi Pattim,
Although I haven’t met Sharon in person, I’ve talked with her and she’s a wealth of information. Extremely knowledgable and very nice too!
Re: Looking for Laura in L.A.
Thanks - Pattim told me about Sharon Wenger. After I speak to Kelter Monday I’ll see what they have to say and then contact Sharon, who is closer to me. I received her materials this past week.
Hi Amy,
I haven’t had a chance to call and talk with them. I’m curious about what therapies and the types of intervention they have. Or do they just have testing?
Are you by chance familar with Sharon at Education Station? She’s in L.A. and I just got a flyer in the mail from her yesterday. She’s having a summer program. In fact, I have the flyer right in front of me! There’s a list of proposed classes (I assume it depends on interest level), but there’s Phonics, Writer’s Workshop, Motor Skills and Keyboarding, Math Computation and even Yoga for kids!
She has PACE and recently started offering Samonas.
Here’s her website if you’re interested:
