I posted the lastest report out of CA highlighting the still accelerating incidence of autism. Three times up and three times zapped. Why? I attacked no one, gave full credit to the authors, was not trying to sell was not trying to scam. Just an informative piece that some people may actually find interesting.
Who is deciding what shall stay and what shall go?
Re: Why was my post deleted 3 times?
Dunno. It was there and then it was gone. Twice Thurs. and then again yesterday. Go figure.
Re: Why was my post deleted 3 times?
Your post was deleted for several reasons:
1. It was probably factual.
2. You are male.
3. Some women didn’t like it.
Dad your posts are informative and accurrate and therfore not appreciated. If your posts are anti-drug they will be erased and they will post ridiculous stuff using your name just like they did to Ball as a way to boot you too.
Re: Why was my post deleted 3 times?
If your post was deleted 3 times it was because it was inappropriate. This board is for the support of beleugered parents not someone like you with facts and information. We can do our own research.
Re: Why was my post deleted 3 times?
Hmmm…. p’raps they’re zapping a broader spectrum — sort of an “anything that might cause contention” policy. It used to be pretty hard to get something zapped (I know when I worked there, there was amazingly little monitoring of the board.) However, recently there have been some lawsuits from folks (as in big money companies) who allege they’ve been libeled on email groups.
Priceless!
That is beautiful!
Reminds me of that famous quote from F Lee Bailey. He was questioning a witness, leading him along when the witness protested “but that is not the fact in this case” F. Lee replied “Let’s not cloud this issue with the facts.”
I think fed up, Art and Sue are the same person trying to de
and you know who that is. He is not happy trying to destroy the other board, he has now moved on to this one.
Re: When Ball and his aliases try to destroy a thread, the w
A few weeks ago I replied in defense of a parent who accused of ‘poisoning her child, etc’ by Ball and a Ball supporter (Ball in disguise?). I also reported the post to the board admin. Interestingly, I was kicked off but not Ball (his came later!). My home computer is disabled from replying to the board. I could wipe all the cookies etc from my home machine but I have needed passwords, etc, stored there. So I will be not using these boards much any more as my time on my work computer is spoken for.
Thanks to all who have helped over the last three years. I had never heard of most of the therapies regularly discussed here. I certainly have learned a great deal about reading/writing and the component activities. We have benefited greatly from the discussions of IEPs and accomodations in our daughter’s educational experiences.
Thanks to all for your selfless help to others.
Exactly
Well I signed on last night and was surprised to see the posts - I’ve been away at a 2 day Peter Wright Book Camp. I decided, b/c my brain was “fried”, to wait until this morning to post b/c I am SOMEWHAT wiser when I’ve had some sleep.
This entire group of BBs have been a “life saver” for me. This is where I initially met “Socks” (one of my MOST favorite people). This is where I’ve learned SO MUCH from bgb, Dad, Janis C, LStarr, Sue (resource room), Susan Long, Victoria, the list goes on (credits listed alphabetically ;-) ). This is where I have been “hoorayed” by Beth-FL and Linda F, as well as many others - and “hoorayed” them as well. I’ve even had “wonderful” disagreements with others who have not “pounded” when they don’t agree, nor me them. (I’m not sure that’s good grammar - Victoria will know :-) ). This is the place where I have gained more knowledge and support than any other bb.
The hardest part is that I look ESPECIALLY for posts from particular responders so when their names are used, and it’s not in the fashion to which I’m used to hearing them, I almost always know immediately that it’s not really the “sign on” person.
As someone said, I believe we should ignore the “outlandish” posts - and most oif us know which ones they are - much like you would a 4 year old.
The saddest part is that “newbies” who are referred here will not understand and the “wisdom”, gained by both education AND experience, will be diluted.
So, I say, let’s hang in there and hope that with no “attention” the problem will resolve itself.
What can be done?
Disappointed that as a new person on this board that this harrassment and intolerance is going on. I have found significant information on this board regarding my LD son. I am saddened that if you don’t agree with what someone else is saying, we can’t allow it to run off a ducks back. I would like to see a sign on policy with a password if other people are chiming in. What can be done to change the situation rather than people leaving with their knowledge? Let’s look for a solution.

This is a terrible loss to this board. MMM you have really helped me. Please reconsider. Your input about vision therapy was especially helpful.
I know what you mean. I have gotten kicked off the board a few times. I did erase all my cookies and was reinstated.
One thing to do . . .
is to require EVERYONE to include an email link with their messages. On yahoo groups, the full email address is not revealed to the public (unless the person consents during the sign-up process) but everybody has to include one when they post. This significantly cuts down on abuse. I know many people are wary of spam, but that can be avoided by using one email address for your “real” email, and another address (one that you never check) for when you post. The spam (if any) goes to the dummy account. Most ISPs will allow you to have more than one email address.

Stop censoring
The problem is lack of self control. All the moms have their panties in a bunch because they can’t deal with anything that is anti-drug. No matter who posts it.
All you need do is accuse someone of being Ball and their post will get deleted. I am sick to death of this witch hunt and I wish it would stop.
Re: Exactly
I too have counted so much on many of the names you listed and others for needed help. I have agreed, disagreed, discussed, read learned and laughed here.
Remember Peter Principal those were not deleted and monitored.
The new is too time consuming or maybe we need instructions.
Re: Exactly
Marion,
would you and others be interested in making another bulletin board? Frankly, maybe I am getting old ,but this is really making it hard to follow the posts, and I geeting ready to quit trying.
Don't go!!
I’ve sent several messages to the board administrators and they are gradually getting the boards back functional. I’m seeing improvements every day. Send a note making a positive suggestion, and in general they work on it.
I’m also figuring out how to navigate the new system, and there are actually some advantages to it. When I get over some other stresses right now, I’m going to post some sugestions.
It was?? I remember the post. Did someone reply?
