Has anyone out there ever started an ADHD support group within your neighborhood? There are quite a few people that have children that go to my sons school who also have children with ADHD. They are experiencing the same frustrations as I am. I thought it would be beneficial to get a group going so we can all help each other out. If you have done something like this, please let me know.

: If you have done something like this, please let me know.Last June we began a parent run support group in our community with the help of a local parenting organization. We first looked into what other towns in are state were doing and talked with some of them to get information and ideas. Our goal was to have the group run by the parents who would also be participants in order to know and meet their needs - like when we have a speaker come in etc. It takes some planning, but even in our small town we have about 5- 8 parents attending monthly. Good luck!

My pediatrician’s office had evening support groups for various issues and CHADD had frequent meetings.Have you contacted CHADD? They might have an active support already going. Or do a web search under Attention Deficit Disorder. I think there are several national organizations which have already established support groups in larger cities. How can it be wrong to get together once in a while and share experiences? It sounds like a great idea to me.
