DHA

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hello, I read a post from someone, somewhere, who was using DHA and Efalex to treat dyslexia and/or ADD and now I can’t find it. My questions are… Do you use the DHA bought OTC found in Fish Oil. Do you use the dosage recommended on that label? Also, how long should it take to see results when taken on a regular basis? What is that half life of this product?

Thanks for your help. Donna

You should start by reading “The LCP Solution: The Remarkable Nutritional Treatment for ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia” by Dr. Jacqueline Stordy. You can also go to her web site drstordy.com

She reviews lots of different products with essential fatty acids. My son takes Efalex which you can buy at all GNC stores, RiteAid drug stores (plus other places) and from the distributor, Emerson Ecologics.

Some people use ProDHA by Nordic Naturals. I think you can buy it from them directly or you can go to the Cherub Foundation web site and buy it. That foundation is for children who have delayed speech (dyspraxia) and they are gearing up to do a major study of EFAs and dyspraxia using ProDHA because the anecdotal evidence from parents is so compelling.

I can’t answer your question about its half life.
