A.D/H.D. and L.D. Support Group

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

If their was an A.D/H.D. and L.D. Support Group in Nashua N.H., just over the MA. boarder set up for teachers, Dr.’s, parents and A.D/H.D.ers would anyone be interested? I may have a place and it’s just off the highway. I don’t think it will coast much. $5.00 per person.

Just wanted to give you a boost. “If you build it, they will come” We have a very similar group in Chicago and it is very successful. I am on the board and I do their newsletter. We draw people from all over the Chicagoland area. We meet the same Tuesday night every month. We usually have a speaker come in to give a presentation (people love to hear the free expert advice) and you can usually get the professionals to do it for free. We mix up the topics and announce them in advance in the newsletter which goes out to members 2 weeks before the meeting. Reminds everyone and annouces the topic. We also have a lending library which people really appreciate (this takes time to build and members donate items). We charge $18 for the year, which covers use of the building and cost of mailing out the newsletters.

Just want to encourage you to do it. People really do come from great distances for the support especially if there is nothing else around. The key is promotion. Get the word out through schools, doctors offices, churches etc. You’d be surprised how many show up! Good luck to you.

Texas huh? hmm… GW Bush was a member of some group at Yale called skull & bones. It sure helped him with his LD & ADD but I don’t know too many people who want to sit around a giant pentagram and drink blood from human skulls.
