both boys in middle school today

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Well, I just sent both my guys to school today, my youngest is starting middle school(6th) and my oldest is in his last year of middle(8th). Both have adhd and take meds. Hoping for the best with my youngest, he has done pretty well with elementary school but I worry about how immature he is, didn’t seem like such big deal with playing g.i. joe’s and wearing costumes to watch tv while in elementary. He says he and his older brother have a deal worked out(I wasn’t supposed to know but he can’t keep a secret) if he needs help at school. I am hoping big brother does a good job at being a big brother.

So…most likely you will hear from me concerning the oldest about mid term, it seems like middle school for me has been a giant roller coaster as far as grades go, keeping my fingers crossed for this year. I feel like I am on the first part of the roller coaster where the chain is just bringing up the car to the top of the first hill. Maybe I’ll get some corkscrew turns, I actually like those!!

OK, it’s early and I’m rambling but thanks for listening. I had a feeling most of you would understand. Best wishes all.
Amy

Amy, I’m with you… school gives me angst. Our 8th and 10th grade boys start school again tomorrow. I already have my school jitters.

By the way, middle school years were the best so far for both our kids. I hope both your kids (and especially your 6th grader) have a successful year!
