I am all new to this. I think I just posted something in the wrong place! (under inclusion teaching) My third grade 8 yr old daughter is now in the process of being tested. To me she seems to have ADD without the hyper part. She may also have some processing issues. Is there a place that I can get more info on the different kinds of processing problems? It’s been my experience that if you don’t ask the right questions, you don’t get any answers. I seem to get a better response when I go to the principle or teacher with (ammunition) information that I have researched. This website just might be my best find yet!
There is allot of lingo and abbreviations flying around here that I am clueless about. What is this “audioblox”? It looks like something I may need to look into. How about “Fast forward”? What is this high protein diet all about?
My daughter is now getting Title I tutoring in math and reading. She should have been getting this earlier but that is another story. She is not pulled out of class but the teacher takes a small group and instructs in the class. I am not so sure that this is the way to go if your child is also so easily distracted as mine is. Her small reading group does go to a unused classroom. It will be interesting to see what the results will be.
Any suggestions on how to get through home work with out the tears and frustration. I think the amount of work being sent home is a little much. They keep drilling us about the Mastery tests that we are gearing up for next year. My daughter is already stressing over that!
Thanx for listeneing,

Hi Darcy,
IM = Interactive Metronome www.interactivemetronome.com A few of us have found it improves attention and I thought he cured my sons sequencing problem.
Audiblox = Is a cognitive and sensory enhancement program that develops mostly visual/motor skills. If your child has an auditory deficit I would do something else like sound therapy or fast forward first. www.audiblox2000.com
Audiblox is pretty cheap and is done at home.
Fast Forward addresses auditory processing issues and is done at a center.
I won’t go any further but feel free to ask more questions. People here really want to help.
