Not quite sure which acronyms you’re after but here are a few… maybe others can build on or correct this one…

APD - Auditory Processing Disorder
CAPD - Central Auditory Processing Disorder (probably same as APD)
NVLD - Non-Verbal Learning Disability (this one is kind of counter-intuituive, I believe they are usually quite verbally expressive, but have trouble with non-verbal thinking, like directionality. Not real sure, though)
SID - Sensory Integration Disorder
ED - Emotionally Disturbed
MH - Mentally Handicapped
CP - Cerebral Palsy

OG - Orton-Gillingham - a multi-sensory reading approach (trained providers)
FFW - Fast Forward - a program through a trained provider to address APD/CAPD, and lack of phonemic awareness
IM - Interactive Metronome - another remediation program (can’t tell you what it addresses though - being slight out of sync?)
AT - Assistive Technology
PG - PhonoGraphix - A reading remediation program, provided by a trained provider. I believe the self-taught alternative is Reading Reflex.
OT - Occupational Therapy
LMB - Linda Mood Bell - another multi-sensory reading approach (trained providers)

accomodations, assistive technology the school will provide to a Special Ed student.
504- a school document define what services, accommodations, the school will provide to a student with a disability that does not require/qualify for Special Ed.
SpED - Special Ed
FAPE - Free and Appropriate Public Education
IDEA - (Individual’s with Disabilities Education Act?)

FYI- Sensory Integration Disorder is known now as DSI - they do not want it to be confused with SID - Sudden infant death syndrome.

I am with you. I am also new to all this stuff. I am at the begining stages of having my 8 year old daughters learning problems identified. You get an education just reading all the posts! The people here are very helpful so keep asking questions.
