LD/ADHD

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

My son is 7-years-old. He has been diagnosed with ADHD/LD in reading comp. He is on Concerta already. He is having trouble and I can’t find anyone to help him. I took him out of public school and he is being taught at an tutorial program. He can not work independently at all. Someone has to sit there and tell him everything to do. Even when me or his teacher is working with him he’s like a toy that has a loose battery. It connects, then doesn’t, it’s back, then it’s gone. We have had him tested for seizures, and this was negative. He is very smart and has a very high vocabulary. I know something else is wrong, I just can’t find it. Can anyone help?

does he have depression or perhaps his meds are at a too high of dosage…Can you explain in detail what is being done to help him and the results of any speech and language assessments so that I can be of more assistance…and give you some ideas that may help. You can e-mail me directly if you like.
